Brown trout

Lazy day.

Finally some springtime action. Landed 11 bows, 7 browns, (the biggest being the 10 incher on the dangle), 2 reader sunfish, 2 creek chub and a common shiner. The shiner, chub, and sunfish all had beautiful spawning colors on display. First time successfully euro nymphing, and I can confirm it is very effective. Being connected straight to the flies allows you to feel the take much faster, and I probably felt another 20+ fish that I didn't set the hook on. Lots of bug activity too, with tons of midges, some little black caddis, little black stones, darker dun colored mayfly, and a bright green mayflies all coming off the water. It was pretty hard to not throw on a dry fly but I wanted to work on my nymphing game. Time after time, my favorite river never fails to produce.

Couple quick coffee break catches this morning. Bonus on finding a good morel patch. 2nd patch this week.

Im back! First real day out fishing, hooked 4 fish today, only landed 2. Heres a big brown from this morning.
