The black and gold toby (single hook), strikes again! This 2 pound jack, Rainbow Trout, was caught up the Rangitata River. Enjoyed alongside the river, in the smoker. Used Manuka wood chips to smoke this fish. No more than 15 minutes and it was done - delicious.

A big brown trout, caught on my 7 weight fly rod and using a size 12 stimulator dry fly. This is up the beautiful Rangitata river...well above the gorge. My mate Steve, his son Lachlan and I camped out so we could get on the river nice and early. What an awesome spot...and not far from where they filmed some of the Lord of the Rings movies.
