After 2 hrs of not hooking a fish (in 8 tries!) on a topwater frog, switched to a bladed jig. First cast, SMACK! Just a hog of a LMB! Almost a PB. Wasn't looking for anything like this in the retention pond. Now, if I could only do that with the frog.....

Too nice a day not to fish (or at least be out). LMB cooperated in numbers (10) but not size. Strikingly colored green sunfish fat as all get out. Pre-spawn?

Looking for whatever bites in a tiny pond and set a new PB. Wow! Obvious pre spawn female. No scale and I'm a terrible judge of these things but I gotta think an easy 5#. Corrections welcome. On a bluegill themed small spinnerbait I made. What a kick!!

Another species checked off the bucket list. First wiper; and I guess that makes it a PB too. Man, do they fight! Like wrestling with a smallie. What a picnic!!!

Nice couple hours today before the front included this porker and few other smaller LMBs. Great to get out a few more times before weather really changes. Tight lines!

Used a trip to the grocery store to spend a little time at the adjacent retention basin. Usually a handful of dinks but today only this one on a small paddletail. Where's that great fall bite????

A day to regroup.....must have missed 6 or 8 hits but still landed 7 incl this 17"er. LMB hitting everything I threw out there - ponyhead bucktail "swim jig", junebug tubes, even #1 inline spinner. Now to work on my hook sets......grrrr

Wasn't sure about the bite after 2.5" rain but 10 bass in 3 hours, along with the token green sunfish, suggests they were ready. The ripped up "thumb of success" will voucher for me. Waiting for the streams to clear now.
