Happy Fathers Day to me!

A solid 3ish pounder for the first catch of the year on a pig and jig

Was ready to call it quits, bite shut off. All fish were in the middle of the pond. Threw the jig way out one last time and got this bucket mouth. First cast was a catch, so was last. Weight was approximate. Out with my dad and father-in-law. Happy Father’s Day, y’all!

Casting out a slight backlash and this ditch pickle nailed it. I love accidents like that. Best fish of the year.

Not the lunker I was looking for, but it’s always fun to make a catch. Didn’t get a pic of the lil chunky girl I got this morning. First catches of the year sure feel good!

Cold. Windy. Miserable. Had two break off right at shore. Missed several more hooksets. Probably my last time out this year. Much better than the rainy conditions I endured yesterday for 1 dink. Still managed to enjoy myself.

Not a bad morning

Landed this lil dink, so I kept him on as bait and snagged the second fish. Texas rigged purple worm was only thing working, today. Had some strikes on the frog, early, but didn’t hook into anything. The fish mostly pecked at the purple worm, too.
