Story time… When i was a kid, i LOVED fishing. My grandpa taught me how to fish in the Ozarks. Every summer, I would spend every moment i could at their lake house fishing. Mostly for catfish, but occasionally caught gills and carp on worms, corn, etc. I fished a few times in highschool with my dad but until about a month ago, i hadnt fished in nearly 10 years. That being said, to catch up on lost time I had to teach myself everything from scratch. I wanted to target game fish like bass and crappie with artificial baits, instead of the stink bait, live bait, etc i used when i was younger. From building up a tackle box, to tying basic knots, braid vs flouro vs mono, tying on leaders, how to toss a spinning reel, how to toss a baitcaster, different types of soft plastic rigs, how to fish different rigs and WHEN to fish different rigs, where to fish, how to identify fish that i caught… and everything in between. Ive put in some serious work getting back into fishing over the last month and restored my passion for it. TODAY, I caught my PB largemouth. Caught on a $1 spinner from wally world with an electric grape berkley power worm cut into a little homemade swimmer. DAMN it feels good to be a gangster. 😎
