Struck it lightly the first pass, but smashed it on the second.

This guy struck was in heavy weed cover and repeatedly at other top water lures, but never took the whole thing. The white curly tail trailer once again takes down another light biter.

A couple surface striking bass just after dawn. The buzzbait is an old Mama Baits lure I reskirted. The Whopper Plopper is a 75. Not pictured, a 6" dinky bass I caught on a white spinnerbait.

I started trapping my own leeches this year

Color combo of the day is red and white... didn't leave me blue. 😉 HUGE hit with a great fight. On a medium/light rod this felt like an even bigger monster. Best fish I've seen out of Quamba in years, and it's back in the water to be caught another day.

After a number of buzzbait blowups that got off the line, I switched to the silver minnow and got a nice hit from this peppered, little guy.

Arrived late at the lake. Still had to try. First cast in shallow, weedy Mud Lake.
