Caught this giant while walleye fishing, on a jig and a minnow, great and long fight!!

27.5" pike... spent the whole trip fishing deep but as soon as I go in and cast to the visible emerging weedline, wham, one of my largest pike yet. Guess I still don't know where these bigger fish are hiding.

Finally caught my first walleye!! 17 inches. So different from pike. It's fascinating. These little guys have been so elusive for me. Got him on a live minnow bottom bouncer rig, right off the weedline at about 8 feet. 6:30am and 60 degrees air temp. It's been a couple weeks trying to get to one of these guys, had a chance with one my first week but he shook the hook right at the boat. Crushing. But today was a resounding success. Nice to feel like I'm finally getting the hang of this.
