Not the first or last catch of a lovely evening. I know rock bass aren't a favorite for many, but with the sunset that came with it, I won't complain. More incoming.

I went out on my kayak in the late afternoon and caught nothing, but enjoyed exploring the mouth of the Ottertail river in places that motor boats can't go. I get back to the cabin for dinner, and my arms are smoked, so I just throw a line from the dock again, and pulled 10 decent sized bass out of the shallows. Not even 2 minutes between catches. I swear I'm aiming for other species, but I guess that's what I get for throwing a black plastic worm with chartreuse curly tail. (Pardon my shirt, it came unbuttoned at some point.)

My friend dared me to throw a line off the dock, and not only did I catch a fish, but a brought up a 16" bass! I was not prepared for it, however. I had to holler at said friend, who was in a hot tub at the time, to get his ass and my paddle down to the dock. And not for what it sounds like. 😉

Brown and purple jig with blue soft plastic. Not really sure how to handle these guys the best, didn't get a weight on it.

River fishing, caught this guy on my first cast! Using a 5/8 ounce jig with a blue skirt and a green soft plastic.
