So after a morning of continual setbacks I found myself lakeside at my hometown lake instead of where I intended to fish. Armed with one hook, one bait cage, one rod and a bite alarm with no battery. I'm making it work!... 😂

Fish #2. I can see the early onset of Exophthalmia here as well... This sucks. Dropping fish left and right today. Ive dropped three fish so far.

Nice channel cat but a clear case of Exophthalmia also known as Popeye. Not a good thing. Clearly the water quality is deteriorating rapidly in this heat. You can clearly see a change in clarity since last week although I see no algae mats yet. I'm actually considering moving to another location till fall. When the water temps fall the fishs conditions will improve. I just don't want to end up damaging a nice fish...

I'm surprised I got one this morning in this heat... No skunk 🦨

Fish #2 breaks the skunk...

This would be fish #6 today... Four carp, two small channel cats. I'm running out of bait!

Started off with a bumblebee catfish followed with a double header. Unhooked fish #1 in the net and released to land this one. Gotta go bait up... Tight lines and tails up!
