OlManFishin .
What a day.....Water 70..overcast.bit of rain..over 30 fish..nothing over 3 pounds..I'm a huge fan of topwaters and Ned rigs but couldn't buy a bite..so turned to the old favorate..zoom trick worm...I know everyone loves the trick worm but I modify mine and it makes a huge difference..I don't want to sound like a smarty pants but if you want a tip I'll tell you what works well for me..Forget spending money for senkos..(sorry Garry)..trick worms are cheap..5 bucks for 20 worms..buy a bag of bubble gum and a bag of june bug..take several bubble gum worms and mix them with the junebug..leave in the sun..on the dash..hot boat..the colors will mix..you'll get a weird purple..(can see it in my pics)..it looks good in the water..take the very tip and just use a tiny bit of JJs chartreuse..use a small 2/0 hook but try to find a thicker weight hook..if no wind it's all you need..cast it out..it's painful how slow it sinks but it needs to reach the bottom..then just drag it back to the boat..slowly..SLOWLY..if there is bit of wind use a small split shot on line..gotta be a line watcher..usually get s bit on the fall. Good luck..hope this helps you few extra fish in the boat PS..you can mix different colors get different effect..but the purple looks similar to worms or leaches and works best for me..plus you get 40 worms for ten bucks..and when the tip tears just bite quater inch off and you'll get 5 or 6 before it gets to short then use as a Ned bait.

3 hours..18 fish..largest 3 pounds..85 degrees out and clear sunny ..topwater all day..from foot off shore to 7 feet deep..weeds edges and the in the thick stuff...lost 4 much larger fish but that the cost of using top waters in thick weeds with 8 pound test line..they bury deep...you can use a 5 dollar pop r and get a few bites..or a lobina rico and get bites all day...once you figure out how to make it dance in place (does hurt when you lose one though) Don't be afraid to throw them in the slop .Try and I say try to not set the hook immediately after they hit it..they will either just sucks it under or shark week it..where they leave the water entirely to smash it..resist setting the hook for a half second and you'll get a better hook up...can be tricky but alot of fun Good luck ..

14 fish..4 hours..73 degree water...all fish around weeds beds in 2 to 9 feet of water..one of those unique days where they hit Ned rigs on the bottom (6 fish) and the rest on top water..nothing like using a top water and light line around the weeds..alot of fun... PS..I've tried all top water plugs from megabaas..yellow jackets and the original pop r...but nothing works like a Lobina Rico..black I usually don't mentions product names but this things works like no other..it ain't cheap but when it catches fish with blue bird sky's in the middle of the day you can only imagine it during dawn and dusk..you're welcome
