Vacation on Ocracoke. Surf fishing, wrong time of year, but caught little fish and bait stealers everyday. One day landed me at the local tackleshop for a reel cleanup, when something big yanked my rod out of the sandspike and into the surf. Ran out 300 yards of line, straight out, before releasing the hook. I would have loved pulling in a big shark. Not this day 😠

Bluefish were thick. Steady action all day 😀

Here’s the 31 inch

Already posted the pic of the fish but what a great time it was catching it. Swim trunks and a t shirt at the end of February. Come on warm weather!

Caught a 22 in drum very narrow so let it go. Karma. About 15 minutes later got this 31 inch beauty. That’s what it’s all about. Both free for another day. Next day my buddy got the dinner fish 😉
