Stopped by the honey hole again this evening after work, and right around the same time of evening that the fish always start biting, I landed this big girl! She put up a good fight, and knew the right techniques to potentially shake a lure (which made me nervous with all her breaching 😆). But I managed to win the battle! Was an excellent evening following a busy work weekend!

2nd catch of the night maybe 2 or 3 casts after the first 1.5lber landed! This girl was a hog! Hit the bait hard, and fought like hell! My guess is she was at least 3+lbs, with a fat belly!

First catch of the night, throwing a 3” bluegill swimbait. My guess is 1.5 lbs fish

First LM bass of the year! And she was a dandy!!!After a long 13 hr day at work (I’m a nurse), I decided to stop by a little pond that was a couple blocks away on the route home and get some casts in before dark… was using a white/orange/blue spinner bait to start but with no luck, then as it started to get dark I decided to switch to a fluorescent/highlighter yellow+white spinner bait since the water visibility was really poor on top of the waning light… well on the 2nd cast with the new color boom!! Thought I snagged some weeds or structure until it started shaking!! Caught this big girl in about 3 feet of water right along the shoreline near a large overhanging tree that dipped into the water! She fought like crazy, and was a very unexpected catch seeing as the pond was tiny to say the least haha. Didn’t manage to get a weight on her since the scale was in the car, and sorry for the poor pic quality as I was trying to get her back in the water as soon as possible. But she was a nice fish, and I had her held right up against my body for reference. If anyone has a weight guess would love to hear it?! If I had to guess maybe 3.5… She was released and swam back quite healthily!!

seems to be a good trout stock here. I get fairly reliable bites on Kastmasters, this is a good place to practice setting hooks. #boatsetters
