Many trouts at Rice lake

Local stocker lake froze over, which means ice fishing! Caught 4 using a 1/4oz Gibbs Croc as a flasher, and then a really small jig head from Trout Magnet along with some salt cured raw deli shrimp. Fun day, can't wait to do it again!

A couple of rainbows in the winter

Fun morning at Rice Lake again. Got bites on a ton of different gear. First was on orange Mad River Eggs (Garlic scent), then good luck with Trout Magnets. Had a few hits on a Panther Martin spinner, but not enough to hook 'em. Ended up with my limit, released two, and a friend gave me his catch.

Second catch of the day, first landed. Started with a slip bobber setup on my ultra light rod with mono and a 4lb fluorocarbon leader, and tossed it with some raw grocery shrimp and got a hit immediately. Unfortunately just as I was about to land it, it got tangled in someone's braid and the fish broke the light test line and got away. Decided to switch to my second pole with 10lb braid and directly connect with a snap swivel to a small Kastmaster spoon. After a few casts, I thought I hit bottom and gave it a tug and out jumped a fish. Managed to land this one no problem and I ended up keeping it since the hook went through its tongue and bottom of the mouth instead of the cheeks. Great morning fishing, must have had about 5 bites all together in less than an hour.
