#CATCH24. Went carp fishing yesterday after work

Tried night fishing again with Feng Li . No luck with bass or pike so I gave up and started targeting the small fry. Very surprising how well these fish can see in the darkness.

After Aquitaine, I popped over to prof lake for a spin. I've been completely reliant on fly fishing recently, and wanted to force myself to try new things, so I brought some jigheads and soft plastic paddle tails. Funnily enough, I've never really fished a setup like this The wind was pretty strong, but I managed to get the jig out fairly far with a long rod. Not really knowing what I was doing, I tried different locations and retrieves. At one point I got a solid bite but the feeling of a spinning rod was so foreign that I barely realized and set the hook. Unfortunately the bass managed to wiggle free and I thought I missed only chance of the day. Thankfully I kept at it and hooked up with another of about the same size. After moving around the lake, I got fed up with the wind + sun in my face and started casting flies again after seeing panfish nibbling at the paddletail, and caught one after another, finishing the day with 4 total species.
