Summer is officially drawing to a close, but the kids are eager for one last adventure before school begins! So, over the weekend, I took them to my secret spot—"the Pond of Cozy"—for an exciting fishing session. This was their first time visiting this charming location, and they immediately fell in love with it, having a blast as they caught a variety of fish. We also encountered two other groups of anglers who were also enjoying great success throughout the day. Everyone shared their experiences and fun stories about the pond, creating a wonderful sense of camaraderie. It’s such a relaxing setting that I can already imagine next time I bring along my lawn chair, some coffee, and a good book while watching the kids fish.

I have fished at countless locations across the GTA, and this little pond ranks among one of the best on my list! I don’t keep my favorite spots a secret; if I find a place that’s great for kids and families, I’m happy to share it! I’ve visited this charming pond more than 20 times, and I can't hardly remember the number of times I’ve come up empty-handed! If you’re looking to enjoy a leisurely afternoon and learn how to fish, bring along a can of worms for some fun. Occasionally, you might even catch some carp here, so don’t forget to pack a can of corn as well!

It’s been 2 months since I began my fishing journey. Glad to have finally caught my first largie! After catching panfish and chub, I was eagerly waiting to hook my first bass. The bite is very different, a slow heavy bite that aligns with how they vacuum up the food. Looking forward to finessing techniques and catching many more. Tight lines!

Last year, I christened this petite body of water as 'the Pond of Cozy.' Although no larger than a standard tennis court, it yields some impressive bass!

After finishing my grocery shopping, I found myself with an hour to spare. I debated whether to seize the opportunity to go fishing, but alas, the windy and rainy weather dampened my spirits. Recently It seems that whenever I have a moment to myself, the weather decides not to cooperate. Nevertheless, I reminded myself of the saying 'use it or lose it' and ultimately decided to make the most of it by casting my line in a nearby pond. To my delight, it turned out to be a rewarding decision as I successfully caught two carps, making it a peaceful and enjoyable evening!
