Irish Sea

Decided on a last minute fishing session after work last night, did 2 hours up and 2 hours down. I couldn’t get hold of any black lug at short notice but a local tackle shop had some rag-worm in so took 200g of that plus some squid and mackerel. Which I made into cocktails and wrapped in bait elastic. From the off my rods were rattling loads of bites from what I later found to be whiting no bigger than my middle finger. It took about an hour for my first take which resulted in the first of 30 dog fish of the session, nothing to drastic in weight just juvenile and the biggest being 4-5lb. Just after high tide I landed the first of 5 whiting all under keep size so they was returned to catch another day. All baits where catching but the mackerel & squid wraps were the favourites of the night.

Couple of hours in the sun today not a lot happened but this dab saved the blank!
