scent from hell wafter used off the bottom. Good fight with my little 8ft Shakespeare firebird The 1st carp. Quick 2 hour session up the quarry Park. Started just after 6 at the opposite end as you could see the fish surfacing. So fished on the surface and after about 20 minutes they had their first nibble at the pink scent from hell but never took it. Literally 5 minutes after and it was the orange scent from hell's turn, again they didn't fancy it. Sun dropped behind the mountain and nothing for about 45 minutes so we headed around to the car park side at about half 7. Casted one towards the island and the other just left of it. But nothing surfacing after the sun going down. Change of plan after noticing a nice clear patch just to the inside of the island. Changed the orange scent from hell wafter to fish the bottom and literally 2 minutes after going in, BANG. Rod came off the alarm (forgot to set my runner 😳) and after a 2 minute fight with the help of Chris Evans on the net, I bagged my first Carp. Mad up 👍 planned to pack away at 8 so perfect timing.
