River Brain

A great consistent session today on the local river, with around 18 wild chub seeing the net. Great sport as always on the ultralight and using my usual favourite lures to tempt those greedy mouths!

A quick 30 min session after work. A sly spikey shad with a 2g jig head in the margin just before dark. Still needed the flash for the picture, but a lovely end to the day on the ultra light 👍

A quick 40 min sesh on a new stretch yesterday evening. 2 fish caught one slightly further down stream than the other, but both hitting the savage gear dirty roach hard as usual! With a faithful 2g micro jig head from fox in a size 2. Love these little productive ultra light sessions, for some wild gems like these.

My last 2021 winter chub featuring stick in face! Very rough terrain around this spot! Hit my 6.8cm savage lure and bent my matchstick round beautifully as it belted off down stream. Size 2 fox rage micro hook with a 3g jig head used to seal the deal. Good luck in the new year to all!
