River Chelmer

The first pike was about 6kg and the smaller one 4kg. Both taken on float fished dead freshwater fish. Thanks to the two gents fishing nearby advising they had pike grabbing small fish as the reeled in! I went to the swim after they left cast out and pulled the float into about 4feet from the bank and let the current take it and away it went. I use a single size 2 circle hook and tighten up on the take. Hooks are nearly always in one corner and easy to unhook. The smaller one jumped as I was about to unhook and nipped my thumb, not use the long pliers next time!

A nice days fishing the river Chelmer. 2 pike and a mixed bag of Roach Dace a small Chub Perch. Weather was Very Very Wet. Soaked through.
