Tonawanda Wildlife Management Area Pond

Couple bass on a frog last night. Big bass was barely hooked but ran towards me so all I had to do was keep tensions and bring him on. Small bass choked the frog that was almost as big as his entire mouth, little dude was starving. Water was very low at this pond, grass from the bottom of the pond was poking through the surface in about 60% of the pond, making the fishing really tricky. Got a bite on a popper and a bite on a wacky rigged worm but they were only eating the frog fully. Tough fishing but persistence paid off.

Got 2 fish for the day. Lost one right at the bank earlier and then missed 2 other hook sets. But, can’t complain too much while fishing. The popper once again did the job here🤙🏽

Great fight from this guy. Went through the thickest of weeds on the way in. Literally took a full 2 minutes to get him onshore with about 4 pounds of weeds with him. Was surprised the pole and/or line didn’t snap. Fun catch

Got this guy pretty quickly, followed by a few other bites, but then nothing for the next 2 hours after that. Can’t complain about a nice evening fishing though

Just 1 fish today but it was decent and put up a good fight. Caught it on my new Lew’s/KickinTheirBassTV spinning combo. The new combo along with the braided line made me less worried about breaking off and just let me focus on getting the fish to the bank. Beautiful Sunday evening

4 fish total today. All of them were on the smaller side but I’m not gonna complain about 4 fish after getting skunked yesterday at my other usual “go-to” spot. First time using a buzzbait and I got the first fish within 10 minutes but then no bites on it after. I’ll have to learn a bit more about how/when/where to throw it. Then switched to a popper and like the past few times at this place, the fish loved it. Stopped at Cabela’s earlier in the day and picked up about $200 worth of tackle. Also ordered a new rod/reel last week. Hopefully I can crush them with some new gear!

Another 3 fish at this spot today. Great fight from the first guy, was shocked my line didn’t snap with all the grass he cut through. The rain just missed the water. Nothing better to relax with after a long Saturday morning work shift, gotta love it

3 fish at this new spot. Started with the big one, then a decent one, then a little dude. 2 bigger ones on a popper and the the tiny one was caught on the frog. Great fight from the big one!
