Recent Catches At Cluff Reservoir Number Three

Az game and fish had a live stream on YouTube tonight. I asked what was going on with Cluff’s pond in Safford. I got the same song and dance that I have heard for the last year and a half, that they are working on improvements to get it refilled as soon as possible. I check on it every three months or so and to my eyes no work has been started in a year and a half except draining the lake and digging the valve out. Az anglers, help put pressure on these 🤡 to get the job done by calling and emailing the Az game and fish commissions and get this SW AZ gem open for fishing again. In addition, they are supposedly working to repair and refill pond one. I’m not holding my breath since “work” has taking this long on the main job.

2 1/2 pounder and near death experience. Caught the fish within 20mins of getting to pond. Started walking the pond line. Pond was low, got to muddy spot on the the shore and sank to my knees. No one else at pond. Good thing I watched Bear Grylls 10 yrs ago. Spread out the body weight crawled a bit and grabbed a tree limb. Lost a shoe but lived to tell the tale. Too windy to even take the kayak down. But caught this one from the bank.

Took out the Pond Slayer for the first time and caught 2. One wanted to try the kayak out for themselves. Big day, first time in a kayak and first fish caught from one!

Only catch of the day but it was worth the drive. Could not ask for a better day overcast and 82•.

Took my 3 year old trout fishing. He caught 6 keepers and threw back 3 smaller ones
