Haven’t ever done this much night fishing consistently in my life and I’m really enjoying how it’s paying off. This is one of two walleyes that I pulled trout that we’re all over 20 inches.

After striking out on the full moon outing with the boys last night I had to get revenge even though a cold front was here all day and moon was now covered. It was cold and the just as the snow started falling I put my headlamp on. I shined it in the water. Saw two eyes gleaming back and coming towards the bank. I couldn’t believe it. “Is that a walleye?!” I reeled in hastily as I was out deep. As my lure swam past she darted after it. Missed it. Circled back. I lobbed out just pass her eyes. Jigged a bit…. WHAM! First walleye I’ve ever sight fished. Thank you God for the experience.

Had to get one session in this week as it’s all I’ll get with all the travel and other obligations going on this week. Next week they are in trouble!

Pretty dang good day despite waking up a little late and missing sunrise by an hour. The trout were a bonus!

Been smashing some early fall Walters lately at my favorite hole. God is good. 🫶🏻

Thrilled to be fishing this reservoir for the rest of the week after finding them only on day two of the search. Let’s go!
