Heron Lake- Pella Crossing

We don’t get giant bass up here in Colorado often because it’s so cold and trout is more or less our thing so to get a Master Angler sized one today on the Lord’s day is just so awesome. A Master Angler size is 18”. This one was that right on the dot! Have a great weekend FA fam!

Fished for 5 hours, not even a bite. Then, threw on a large ribbon tail and hooked up right when it hit the water. That bass had another one right under it all the way to shore trying to get that worm! So I snapped a quick pic, threw it back and cast it in the same spot. BAM! Second fish on was even bigger! Good fight. Sadly, it was almost 100 degrees at this point and I was done. So were the fish. Not another bite as I walked all the way back to the car. But, those two bass were well worth it.

Spoke to all the fisherman on the lake today. Very slow. I think I was the only one who even caught today so I guess I should feel good but dang I’m about bassed out for the season y’all. I’m ready for trout again that’s for sure.

Landed a Colorado master angler sized bass tonight! She’s on the left at 18” and fat! 15.5 incher on the right. Am I a bass guy yet? Lol. Let’s go!
