The second lake I fished today is the only lake in the James Peak Wilderness that has lake trout in it and what’s crazier is that they actually survive at this altitude. I also caught all of them today on grasshoppers that I caught on the way down to the lake. There’s almost nothing more satisfying than catching them like that. Kept my limit of four today as they are trying to wean them out and stock more cutthroats.
