North Fork Big Thompson River

Since my broken foot seems to be healing up, I tested it out with a bit of hike-to fishing on the North Fork of the Big Thompson. The water level and conditions are great right now, although the turbulent water is bit tricky to fish with a spinning rod. I suspected I caught 3 different trout species - I just wasn't sure I took pictures of all of them. But on review of my photos, I was happy to see rainbow, brown, and brook trout photos. I'm not sure how often you can catch all three in close proximity.

I brought along my telescoping rod while hiking today and landed a couple of small trout. Most of this river is fast and turbulent, making the fishing a bit tricky. But there are some calmer pockets where I made my catches.
