I made a crankbait out of cedar I was just trying it out to see how balanced it was I only had one treble hook and I didn't have the lip ready but it work well a top water something in-between a popper and a walking bait, and then this monster decided it looked tasty. she's not the biggest bass I've ever caught but I can promise you it's the most satisfied I've ever been pulling in a bass, even better the my 12lb PB. bluebird sky's almost 90 degrees no wind mid day on a hybrid top water home made lure. it just shows you that bass don't follow texts books. if it feels right use it!
