Hackett Branch Spill-Off Pond

Finishing off the canned corn with just a couple hours of free time. Only 2 for 5 but 1 lost fish almost dragged my 2nd rod in while fighting another fish. Never noticed the reddish tint to the pelvic and lower tail fins. Something seasonal??

Finally! On the board for 2023. 4 LMBs, 3 on black and blue football jig and one on a small craw crankbait. That first one felt so good!

Even a couple dinks helps let me know the custom tie has potential. Boy, was the water algal stained. Viz < 12".

Squeezing in some angling bt errands....must have really missed fishing all summer. 6 LMB 10"-12" and a couple tiny crappie. All on "blue fox mimic" I made. That's cool. I got out. I caught fish. Life is getting better.

After not being able to fish for 3 months, even dinks rock! Great to be out again with the herons, egrets, and swallows. More to come, I hope.

For a teeny pond where 12" is an "oh my" this was quite the surprise. And on a #2 Blue Fox in gold and chartruese. Great day; at least 15 bass in 3 hours.

Just started pulling the lure out of the water to cast again.....SMACK!
