Peabody River King Wildlife Area Pond

Movin' on up! Nice 2½ pounder out of Willow lake today; no love from the trout on a little bottom rig, but the fight with this dude absolutely made up for it! 🎣 I'd thrown the jig out with the trout rig and let myself drift backwards awhile so I could get some line out on the powerbait rig; sucker grabbed it like 4 hops in, cue the hardest hookset of my life. 😂🤌

Couldn't help but go back to Willow Lake over the weekend; what a beautiful spot! Whacked a handful of dinks draggin' & hoppin' a jig out deep on Saturday, and hit the banks with a little bitsy bug on Sunday for some more! No luck on the belly weighted fluke, but I probably just need practice 🤙🎣

Feels good to be back in the game with some warm weather and ice melting. Three on an under spin and four on a beaver bait over the last two days.

Got out and enjoyed the warm weather. Bite was light but I caught a few of these smaller guys. One with some Christmas trees in his stripe.

#slumpbuster on green pumpkin sapphire rage tail. Caught 7 but this was the best of ‘em.

I was at Peabody River King. Little guy inhaled that Berkeley Power Bait Maxscent 5” worm on a Texas rig. Had a better one on a chatter bait that fell off. I didn’t set the hook well. :(
