Recent Catches At Little Patuxent River

This was an interesting fish. I started with a small black wooly bugger and immediately caught two fall fish. Then after a short time a third fall fish. All fish caught today were around 8 inches. Next I switched to a yellow pinched worm. This produced 3 more fall fish. Then a small black rubber leg fly. I caught one fall fish on it and lost another. The lesson I learned is that I most often start with a yellow pinched worm. This seems to be my most productive lure. But is it realy? If you always start with your favorite lure, that lure has the advantage on catching the few active fish in the spot you are fishing. The favorite lure prediction is in this manner self fulfilling. So now my strategy is to start with an unused fly and later move my seemingly more productive lure. More to come.

I caught several small bass and lost a couple. One jumper got a foot or so out of the water while saying, Goodbye! I tested breem and caught a lot of them. There was one spot where vifgually every cast got a bite and most produced a fish. The breem were slightly larger than the bass.

Fished Lake Elkhorn and on my way home the Little Patuxent River. Caught Bass at both spots, but the Lake Elkhorn Bass was bigger. The Little Patuxent River bass hooked up while my line was dangling in the water and I was setting up for my first real cast. I thought this was a good omen, but it was just a lucky fluke.
