Crane Pond

After 3 weeks of comical and ineffective fly fishing (total noob), I found what I figured to be bass water and thought I would boost my confidence back up. Was pretty shocked to see this heavy trout hit a largemouth spinnerbait. Didn’t measure as I shore landed (not expecting a trout) and had little time to make a safe release. But that’s a size 13 shoe. Not a trophy but not bad for an accidental trout! I’ll be back tonight to not catch another one with my fly rod. BTW if anyone can tell me what flies are hot in northeast mass right now I would be indebted. I can’t tell if I am using the wrong flies or if it is my awful technique keeping the fish away. I assume it’s the latter.
