Eel grass: my experience is eel grass always has fish. Eel grass grows in shallow standing water, blades are about 3/4” tapered to a tip. My guess is eel grass harbors food sources, perhaps an invertebrate population that feeds baitfish? I don’t actually know much about the biology behind this, but try casting to eel grass when you see a patch! Share your experience and results:-) do you have a target vegetation?

Only time today for a quick evening session with both spin and fly rod. Lots of people out fishing my favorite spots tonight, but the outlet of the lake was open so I hit it :-). Caught an ambitious little guy, then cast deeper into the tunnel under 9N to coax the bigger brother to take. Both on the deer hair frog I tied last summer, and for Philip Calitre I took a picture of the 5/6 wt rod I built with my dad as a teenager. Tight lines everyone! :-)

Back at it! Had to try just once more on the way to get a second mortgage to gas up my truck. Lost two, landed one and done:-)

Black flies are out… fish are biting:-) first bass of the season!

Tried a new spot this morning in Lake George. Kept the skunk away with this lil guy very aggressive for his size, 1st catch on my new rig. Got him on the strike king rage craw texas rigged green pumpkin color...
