Unnamed / Lower Nis Hollow Dr Pond

When ya scratch that itch after work...my lil local pond is usually thick with algae, but the rain yesterday filled it up enough to float the scum off via overflow/drain. Seeing the water cleared up meant it was time to go throw yee ole wacky rig senko. 5 minutes in flipping to the typical hotspots (in this case~ right past where the shade line meets the shoreline/cattails) this guy slammed it before the initial cast splash fell back to earth. Gotta love those instant hits 😎

Tired of getting skunked so I set the minnow trap last light... Today threw a fluke/senko/jerkbait for about an hour~nothing...Grabbed the minnows,& started throwing them on a 1/0 finesse hook(no weight no bobber)~ 9 bass in under 2hours 😁...Pics of the 2 bigger ones the rest were under 1lb. I kinda feel like I betrayed myself (using live bait instead of lures) løl

Had my baby girl rigged w/live minnow under a bobber while I fished my topwater frog. Bite was slow for us both so I told her once she gets one we would leave~she nabbed this little guy soon after 😁 So as were leaving I tell her to throw her apple core out for the bugs,& she throws it in the pond instead 😑 about 15 seconds later something slams the floating apple core-it doesn't come back up(mind ya she maybe ate half of it so it was pretty big still)😲😑 about to start throwing topwater fruit around here 🤣😭

Went with the kids to a nearby spring creek up on the mountain to go for "the smallest fish" løl Is this a brook, brown, or bull trout???

Hellz yeah 😁...don't manage to grab bigginz like this very often around locally (especially from the bank of a small pond)... Yamamoto senko~ watermelon w/purple,& green flake whacky rigged... Inhaled it instantly as if I hit it upside the head. Didn't fight hard as I'd expect, but found out why once on shore~my 1/0 finesse hook eye was just barely peeking from its gut😬...luckily I managed to get it out from reaching in the gill plate with one hand,& using small pliers in the other (It opened its "stomach sphincter"🤣 as I was messing with it thankfully~cause otherwise it would've been stuck with a snipped hook in its gut)... Another neat thing was I am 99% sure he was hooked at least 2other times from the thick heavy "scar tissue" around the top&side of his lip.

Finally caught me a bassy on my new baitcaster...took like 5trips out before I claimed something on it (I'd always give up,& go back to my spinning/finesse rod to not skunk)... in all reality- today I learned to get some good distance,& finesse a weightless senko on my Lews baitcaster combo without backlashing 😎🤣🤣

Thought I had a monster bass at first,& instead had a massive frog. Not sure of proper handling techniques,& kinda feel bad I hung him for the pic. I ended up cutting my hook off for easier removal (he was extremely frisky to say the least,& didn't make it easy). My US Mens size 9 shoe for reference. Please shoot me advice for any future mishaps.

1st bass I've ever pulled from that pond. 1st bass I've landed by "punching" scum with a Texas/Texposed rig. 1st fish I've ever gotten my daughter to hold (used a leaf between her fingers&the mouth🤣ya can see it in the pic). 5$ Wal-Mart Yum kit~"Cristies Craws".
