I whipped up this little tail-spin lipped lure on a whim the other day. I just kind of went with the flow and decided to wing it on the paint job - no stress, no worries. It worked out really good and I caught a silly little bass on the first cast! I might try making more with slight variations next.

Just wanted to share another victorious fishing moment. I finished up this handmade basswood glide-bait just last night and then I caught a bass on it this morning! It feels so good to have a fish validate the time and effort that I put into making this lure. The idea was for it to look a bit like an Atlantic Croaker and use it to catch a big redfish or trout once the weather gets better. But in the mean-time at least the bass are on board too! Woohoo!

It's been tough since things got so cold at Christmas. But I finally managed to grab one tonight just before sunset. He couldn't resist the junebug u-tail zoom worm

They haven't been biting at all lately in the pond around me, but I missed one today and then managed to land this little guy. Always a fun time.

Got 4 of these little dinkers on a junebug U-tail worm tonight after I lost my favorite handmade lure to a bird's-nest. Some nights that how it goes I guess.

Had a peaceful morning fishing the pond without any bites except this guy. I snagged my handmade lure and about had a heart attack thinking it was a goner, but luckily I popped it free and then this guy bit it a few casts later! Feels good catching a fish on a lure you made.

Here's a proud moment for me. It's official! Dinky largemouth bass like baby-bluegill baits that you make in the garage and paint poorly! I made this lure myself and I'm so happy that I caught a fish on it! It isn't perfect, and I've got a lot more to learn about lure making. But it fooled at least one fish this morning. It feels good to make something and have it work reasonable well.

Got this little guy on a classic! Been a minute since I caught a bass.
