Thursday was just too beautiful of a day to pass up. Knew the water would be murky from the (much needed) rains we got, and weather would not be great in the near future. Plus I was itching to use the great kayak kushions and tackle storage my awesome wife got me for Christmas! Unfortunately, not a single fish. But still a great day!

A day of mixed blessings at Jamestown City Lake. Started to hail just as I backed down to the water. Fortunately, it was short lived👍. Launched the kayak, headed out and almost immediately a strong gust blew my hat off, and it promptly sunk out of sight before I could rescue it...so long to my trusty fishing companion of nearly 20 years 😥. On the other hand, the wife will be ECSTATIC! Did manage to get a few fish before I got too cold, including a decent 13" black crappie. Very happy with that one! Too bad she wasn't wearing my damn hat!

Nice day at Jamestown City Lake. In the mid to high 50s with a good breeze. Yesterday got down to 17 degrees, so surface temps were down to 48. Things started slow, but eventually I was able to find a few with 3 keepers.

Got some crappie today at Jamestown City Lake, with a little bass and a bluegill joining in for variety. It was a beautiful fall day!

Made a relatively short trip this afternoon for the maiden voyage of my new kayak, purchased on sale from EcoFishingShop.com. They were great to deal with and had the best prices I found on both the kayak and several accessories to rig it up. Spent most of my time getting the hang of pedaling vice paddling (what I'm used to), and setting up the fishfinder. Oh, yeah...I did manage to catch a couple little ones while playing around so I verified the fish catching feature works as well! Beautiful fall day in the 60's and water temps between 59 and 60. Definitely cooling off.
