Ed's Lake

1st two catches were dropshot. Everything else was caught on a Dark Sleeper except one on a spoon. So the Dark Sleeper is a cool bottom swimbait. I can usually get a catch on it if I throw it most times. Not the most consistent bait though. Went to Ed's Lake last week on the 4th. Found some fish. Mix of poop 💩 baits and Stick-O-Craw. #1329 Fish Caught In 2024

A small video on poop baits and how I've been throwing them. Had about a week to test them and the results are getting better everyday. These are cover baits in my opinion. Excel at getting bass to come out of the cover to strike the bait. 99% of my catches came from heavy weeded or snaggy areas with downed trees. Open water I've had nothing but a nibble which is the panfish nibbling on the tail lol 😆. Twistlock hooks work great as these baits seem to tear quickly on a offset hook at the head part. 😶 Once you can't use them on a twist lock anymore take a tube of super glue and seal the head of the bait. Can't use twist lock on them again but a small offset hook works great to get a few more catches off the baits before they die 😅. I use Gamakastu G-Lock Worm Hook 1/0 for the super glued baits. Retrieval of these baits are simple. They have a rocking glide as they fall. If it's not hit on the initial drop then give it 2 pops and let it drop again to the bottom. Rinse and repeat this process. I also had great luck on this day of throwing the bait onto the other bank/heavy matted areas on top of the water then dragging the bait slowly into the water. Usually once that bait enters the water it gets smashed 😂. They seemed to like the pink color the best but I did get catches with all the colors listed in the gear. Part 1 of 2. Had a good day off on the 28th. Went to two different ponds. Both are catch and release 🙏✌️. Caught some smalls at Ed's Lake which is a small pond lol. Last two catches were from topwater softbait across weeds with the Stick-O-Craw. Rest of the catches were on the dropshot.
