Fishing trip was a bust. High winds and fast currents made it hard to keep our lines from tangling with others. Also we didn't bring any rods this time as I wanted to see what the rentals were like....my mistake 🤣😅. Non maintenanced combos are something I'm not a fan of. I know it takes time but makes all the difference for anyone fishing them. I won't give out the name of the charter we took as it wasn't their fault the weather sucked! I caught 1 small catfish. My son caught 3 after getting seasick(his 1st time on a boat for the ocean), he threw up and felt instantly better. 😂 Right before we left the last fishing spot a guy close to me hooked into a 30-40lb black drum. We were at the front of the boat and all the deck hands were at the back helping with other catches. Once he got it up a guy asked for a gaff. Of course they only had 36" gaffs 😑😆. The guy who I gave the gaff to couldn't reach after 3 minutes of trying lol. Still no deck hands up front. So I put my rod in the holder and asked them for the gaff. I told them "Don't let my skinny ass fall overboard while I get this fish." 😆😅. After 2 attempts I got a perfect under the gillplate hook and brought the fish up. Handed it off to the guy before everyone else made their way up front to goggle at his big fish ✌️👍💪. That's the luck of fishing in the ocean. 💯🔥🙏. I may have not caught anything big but I helped someone catch theirs 🥲. Made someone's trip for sure ❤️. The ship picture is the ship my son and I went in yesterday. Also saw more dolphins 🐬.
