Nolan River

Had a great day on the Noaln River today! That tummied up girl absolutely made my day. These four range from 13.5" to 18", but I keep forgetting to buy a scale so I can get weights on my catches. In addition to the photo worthy picks, I managed to land approx. 8 more of their much smaller brothers/sisters throughout the day.

27 crappie up to 13”

Late posting, but this guy was caught on a chunk of chicken breast. My best guess is that he was 20"+/- and closing in on 3lbs. Sadly, his big brother that I landed an hour earlier got pulled off the stinger by what must have been a very sizeable turtle, I assume. He was easily another 6" longer and every bit of 6 1/2lbs.

Crappie are lively and the Sandies are starting to run! Had another angler drop six of the Crappie off to me (he didn't want to clean fish tonight) but still not a bad day for me. Mine were all caught on a jig spinner with a white grub or a silver/white Rooster Tail.

1 keeper (released) and a dozen 4-8” crappie today in 3 hours fishing. Will keep hitting the creek for updates for anyone interested.
