Unnamed / Los Comancheros Rd Pond

Boss gave me the day off today, so I took the morning and afternoon to fish. Caught this 2lbs on the ugly stik dock runner had my scale properly calibrated this time, hahah. Caught a few baby dinks and about 16 bluegil. Some pictures are from yesterday evening, I went out with Karoline Loves Kirby to fish for a bit.

An interesting night at the pond. Started off great, drove my golf cart into the pond and got a nice Bluegill first try, picture 2. Did that for an hour and hit 3 more. I was getting ready to leave and it was dark. Had my head lamp on and walked back to grab my tackle box. I reached down to grab my water bottle which was next to my tackle box and a snake had made its way either into it or it was on top of it. He tagged me right on the ankle. Scared the holy living Jesus out of me to the point I screamed and the people in the house behind where I was came running out. The lady was a nurse, checked me out while the dude tried finding the snake which didn't happen. 95% positive it was just a water snake. If it were a cottonmouth it didn't inject any venom. 2 nice little holes in my ankle and it burns, but other than that I think I will make it. Watch out for snakes friends.

Tried a lipless, a jig and two different chatter baits, but they went nuts for the ribbon tail. It was only babies, but every cast they were taking the tail, even swimming it they’d try latching on

Landed three dinks but didn’t get a picture of the second one… soon as I had the hook out he decided he was camera shy, and jumped back into the water. Lost my chatter bait out there too.
