Smashed on em yesterday with the martin’s, great day on the water

Hooked up with a few steelhead and lost a few smallmouth, spring fishing is full speed!

Picked up some nice fish this morning! Suckers everywhere, and a steelhead!

Her scars a proof of the epic trials that these fish go through to make it home to their tributaries every year to create more steelhead. I know this fish’s personal route is guarded by eagles and osprey, and holds falls that involve attempt after attempt to clear for the home stretch to spawn. Been after a fish this size for quite a long time and am so psyched to be able to observe this one and release it for its journey back to the big water of Champlain!
