Recent Catches At Burke Town Hall Park Pond

Practice some pitching a lure and something hit pretty good and dove for cover. I thought for a second I had the big one! However, it seemed to lack a fight so figured it got off the hook and I'm reeling in weeds. Once it was on shore, no movement, just weeds. Upon further inspection, I found a big mouth in a ghillie suit! Butter than a skunk!

Somewhere in the bottom of this pond, there is a larger fish with the rest of this hook on the left, along with the rather large worm, trying to figure out why it's having digestion problems. No #catch22

Dinks are better than skunks! Although I find the name "Largemouth" a bit of a stretch for this little one. #catch22

One thing I really enjoy about bass fishing and fishing g in general is trying out new stuff and different techniques. Tried a new worm today and a slightly different line setup and it paid off almost immediately. Saw this guy right on the edge of the pond and offered a treat. I ended up with another nice catch! Later on after the fish were no longer interested in that setup, I went to a bobber and worm and got a dinky sunny. #catch22

Today was a better day just for the bass alone. Started on the back side of the pond and had only two casts when a lady walked by and asked how the bite was. I replied that I had just got started and then she mentioned she saw a few large bass over by the bridge. That was all I needed to get me to move. It payed off with the second cast in the new spot. Not my PB, but the biggest LM to date I have pulled out of this pond. #catch22

Ran an errand near one if my fishing spots. Figured might as well try for a little bit. Wasn't expecting a fish this big in this little pond and certainly caught me off guard, but I'll take it!

No skunk Tuesday! Couple of sunnies and 3 bullheads

Score for the Pocket Fisherman! A decent sized sunny is the first to fall victim to this amusing contraption. Nor a great test for the PF as I quickly switched to my braided rod in order to try to keep up with the wife and her rapidly growing fish count. I failed miserably!
