Recent Catches At Mississippi River

Beautiful Minnesota opener. If you ignore the giant birds nest on the 2nd cast and the popper lost in a tree, it was a flawless morning. Because those 2 things definitely did not happen 😆.

Caught my first white sucker Thursday! Ended up catching a total of four, they couldn't get enough of them nightcrawlers. First type of sucker fish I've ever caught, and man are they wierd, cool catch nonetheless, and real happy that I ended up catching something that day, as the first lake we went two we got no bites at all. Even caught a new species! Got home and realized that there was someone's hook in my shoe, real happy that didn't get stuck in my foot.

Also, first rock bass of the year. Though, still small by this body's standards, it's good to know that more and more fish are starting to bite.

Another walleye too.

The next day, we went out and I caught the first micro smallie of the year. But it still counts, lol.

Jake Redacted
Even caught a decent 30 ½-inch pike that day as well. Plus, a fair bit smaller but fat one too.

Jake Redacted
As of the 11th the smallies are finally up shallow to spawn! That means the crappie and other panfish should follow soon. Spring crappie bite is getting even closer.

Jake Redacted
Can't forget the two small walleye as well.
